Need inspirations and some dose of colors...

idreporter

This weekend I had to edit a translation of the article, CORK, for idreporter.com
idreporter.com is a website providing Farsi news and resources in design that it's audiences are Farsi language students or professionals. Regarding the design resources in Iran which are not so much updated, me and 3 of my friends from the first university years has started such a project. This project seems to be successful!

got confused!

It has started well this morning.. I got my supervisors acceptance for the method I have chosen. He had added that in this phase it is good to find the notes (on post-its) which get supports across the materials because it can be difficult to come back to this phase later. So I browse again through the material with each note on hand to find the same notes in other groups..
I wrote them on post-its again with different colors.
I started to write up to this phase in the thesis file but was complicated to find out which notes from the refrences should be written and what should the text look like!

in a conversation with Bertil Carlsson, he suggested to have a look on the book: Qualitative Research and Evaluation Methods of the Quinn Patton.
There are so much materials to read..so much to learn and so much to do! the train is super speed..and I get panic!

Tehran Service Jam

2 years ago when within a conference session (ServDes 2010) Adam Lawrence jumped to the stage and opened a paper sheet of A2 size, I didn't understand what is going on! He explained that he and the colleagues are going to hold an event which will be a cool but important one for the Service Design community..He was talking about Global Service Jam!

Today before starting to work I got e-mails from the curious boy of Service Design in Tehran Saleh..He has registered to host a JAM in Tehran.. Saleh has a mechanical Engineering background and studied MA industrial design in Tehran Polytechnic. I met him in Tehran and found him interested with Service Design.. I don't know his knowledge and skills but appreciate his courage! now in the map of the event there is a flag on Tehran, too. I designed the logo for event( actually customized the original event logo) and had several online conversations around the event and it's requirements with Saleh. He has asked idreporter.com to co-host the event which seems great for me.

I have the contact with Linkoping Jam host but nothing is fixed yet..

These pictures inspires me a lot! colors and motifs! I am putting them here to remember!

keep witing to document process!

Ok now actually one year passed and I hadn't written any posts..
but will continue with a short description:
I am now back to LIU to finish the thesis left since last year. topic: quality of life for elderly people in Iran.
(with service design approach)
I had written the theoretical part about SD which I will post about it later.
Then focused on the probe analyzing methods by reading books like: Design Probes and Bringing the Everyday Life of People into Design
I had designed and collected probes last year.
From now on I will write the analyzing method I have:
Yesterday I put walls in my working room. Cardboard walls would help me see probe materials all together. So I pasted the materials on it in groups for each participants. Later I went back to my notes from the probes (the first insight by browsing quickly through the probes), wrote notes on post-its and pasted on the probe materials on the walls.

*I had selected a number of pictures from the probes and put them on a small panel in my room, even before this step, just to keep my emotional relationship with the participants and to not forget them in the other steps of the project.

*I was photographing every step and will try to put pictures later.
