Well saying goodbye to Sweden I am in Turkey once more! no rest is here although it is mostly family visits.
3 meetings in 4 days seems to be a good start! There are strange categories of businesses! I am trying to understand these models now. There can be a business type which works with friendship relationships and you have to answer regarding the respect you or your family have for that business(or better to say to the owner of the business), an Anatolian type! but the other hand you can also find a business relationship which it is possible to ask clear about almost every thing within it, an European type!!!! To be honest it is too soon to judge about this and these sentences are just for reflecting my insights.

In the previous meetings I could see that there still business types which are not understanding the value of the user research or may be can not trust on it, and therefore don't pay for it. But on the other hand there are companies which are doing it taking advantage off modern called user research methods.. It is really nice to find this type of groups..

I need time to understand more.. wish this won't bring regret to me! but meanwhile let's enjoy the beauty of Istanbul:

Well today was my last official day in this department! I returned the key for my room!! paradoxial feelings!!
Archiving my files in the computer here I found some pictures in que!!

Well, thr presentation phase had paased! paradoxial feelings in me!
I think it was a successful presentation. But don't forget to control the data again and againbefore the presentation! Just 10 minutes before people start to come for the presentation I recognized a huge mistake in my statistical data!! fixed it rapidly but could be worse if I didn't recognize it!

By the way, it seems that I love people asking me questions!! I like the Q&A part the most!
Now I am waiting for Ali for his last post of edits for the thesis and the official procedure. Then professional life should be looked for! Most stressfull part! I will look for job in Istanbul and apply for PhDs at the same time! We will see what will happen after study! But I feel that it is just the begining of the study not the end!

Well the presentation day is coming closer and since this morning I feel stressed!! :) the presentation is almost ready but adding or removing sentences is almost an ongoing part...

Thesis Book!

I should post here more often!! ah!

Well thesis is ready to present I think. Although it is always lots of things left when you want to end a project because it is when you know most about the topic and you feel you would do better if you could start over again! But it should be finished!
The very first print is out and I feel need to make changes on some graphic points..

I will go to the presentation as soon as I am done with these points.. Some points about InDesign and book designing! at least 15mm-20mm margines are needed! Using Calibri font with the 11 size was in reality bigger than what I assumed!
Do not forget to put pictures at least 3mm bigger than the page size because it will be cut and paper color can be seen somewhere.

Notes for Thesis

I haven't written about my thesis so far! just to remind myself, I should say that it is almost finished! it is on my supervisor's desk to be read. I always have this feeling at the end phase of my projects that it is like just an starting! Because I am now really dived in the topic and can see the most aspects of it. I feel I know what to do now if I go back to the first chapters and start to write again!! but noooooooooo.. there is no time anymore! Every project should have a deadline and I should conclude now. It is only left to write the inroduction and furture work! It is hard to leave my personas between the thesis papers, my lovely creatures! one is hanged here by my monitor :

I had e-mails to Stefan Moritz, Frokje Sleeswijk Visser to ask for permission to use their publication contents and it was nice conversations! I should remember that I promissed to send the result to them also!
It seems that it will be an easy presentation since Mr. supervisor said that it will be a discussion meeting in the IxS group rather than a thesis presentation! without any oponent and ...! well! one problem less!
It took one day day to edit the reference list and tomorrow will be the day of the pictures and their referances!
Well should not forget that today was the first day of spring, according to the Iranian calendar and I prepared small gifts for the colleaques in the group here:

My Latest Post in IDreporter: Green Bag for Garbage Sorting

Green Bag

The Green Bag project of the Linköping municipality (Sweden); how concepts from the sustainable design, green design, and service design research projects come to reality and people's everyday lives!

In this project Linköping municipality asks citizens to sort their food waste (just leftovers from food) by the prepared green bags! This will make it easier to distinguish this garbage among others since it is planned to turn food wastes to Biogas- a type of fuel for busses and other vehicles.

This project is introduced in a brochure sent with the Electricity bills, explained with simple pictures.

It is this much easy: sort your food waste using the GREEN BAG, we will turn it into biogas.

More information is available in the project brochure.

The important point in this project is that how small changes in people’s lifestyles can make big changes for environment! And how designers can make these changes happen with the simplest possible way!
